Yesterday I was explaining to allison all the ways in which I'm not a hipster. You see I'm not. Sure there's some hipster tendencies, but I honestly don't think of myself as part of a hipster crew. Of course, as I was telling her about an uber-hipster I saw, I started the tale with, "I was at thrift town the other day..." And then stopped dead in my tracks. Man I sounded douchey.
Then today, after I took the daily picture (in a cab on the way back from beer o'clock) I saw the result and groaned. Look at that fucking hipster.

Wikipedia has a pretty good description: "Hipster is a slang term which appeared in the 1940s. In the 1990s and 2000s it was used in various, sometimes contradictory ways, often to describe types of young, recently-settled urban middle class adults and older teenagers with interests in non-mainstream fashion and culture, particularly alternative music, independent rock, independent film, magazines such as Vice, and Clash, and websites like Pitchfork Media. In some contexts, hipsters are also referred to as scenesters. The term is sometimes used in a derogatory manner, referring to someone who moves from trend to trend while claiming to be outside of mainstream culture."
So, how does it feel to be a hipster? I think you should have another post where you adamantly deny being a hipster, thus solidifying the fact that you are.

What is Clash magazine? I am not a hipster! YESSSSSS. You are also not a hipster. Oldster, yes, but we are not hipsters. We don't wear enough neon spandex for that.
