every day's a new dumb adventure

Jan 21, 2010

it took ten years but we finally learned the big foot dance

believe it or not, randall and i have been together for ten years now. ten incredibly long, but simultaneously short years. during that time we've had a lot of ridiculous adventures (35 pound trips to sweden anyone? how about yak butter tea in tibet?), lived in several different cities, countries even, and have had a great time just laughing over everything.

today was another one of those laughing days. this evening randall and i headed over to cobb's to see the whitest kids you know as part of the sf sketchfest. these kids were really white, and really funny. randall even joined them on stage to do the bigfoot dance. this is us demonstrating it for you. and if you want to do the bigfoot dance on stage, the whitest kids are performing again tomorrow (friday night), i have tickets if you want to buy them (part of the ridiculous adventures involves miscommunication).

ps. i apologize for the speed, the current version of photoshop elements is lamers and won't do anything but a .2 delay. even if you change it it stays. talk about lamers.

pps. please tell me you noticed randall's socks. in ten years i think i've only seen a matching pair five times. and those were just coincidences.

the daily prophetized sabs

in case it wasn't obvious, i am a total nerd. tonight i took my nerdy self, along with randall and anneh, out to see harry potter. in fact i even donned my potter hoodie -- long story, but i will admit now that i did make randall go to three malls to hunt this down for me -- for the occasion.

ps. the better version of this daily prophet-like photo wouldn't upload, too big. booooo.

and nine hours later, it's as if we never left

it's hard to believe we woke up in scottel's house this morning. this whole weekend has seemed like an unreal blur, and now that i'm back at home i barely can believe it happened.

when we left scottel's house, randall was behind the wheel, but a little while later i took over. i didn't get a chance to take a picture in the car (it was raining pretty hard, i was driving, and randall was sleeping and couldn't play photo assistant), so i figured that i'd give you an awesome recreation. this face was the one i had when i was being blinded by the wall of rain and fog and forgot that i had sunglasses at arms reach. also i was pretty sleepy. see the whole too many types of drinks thing from yesterday.

ps. we made it home in just over 9 hours. not too shabby. it's because i was driving fast, just like this picture here demonstrates.

I believe I can fly

i bought randall the sweater i'm wearing a few years ago. and yes you read that right, i bought randall that sweater, and then, because i loved it so much,  i usurped it. it's sort of hard to tell, but it's covered in weird flying things. from biplanes to bats, if it has wings it's on this sweater.

when i put it on this morning, i immediately knew that today's pic would have to reference it in some way. so when i got home from work, i made myself some wings -- although perhaps these are wing prototypes, they're not that great, and if i had more time i'd have found out a way to cover them in feathers -- and snap snap snap. here it is.

now if you shall excuse me, i'm off to take a flight.

ps. i took a bunch of photos and couldn't decide on my fave, so randall suggested i give you them all in a bonus animated fashion. so thank him for this lil' gem.
