Today my aunt an uncles took me out. We ate a lot, but that's for another time. Right now I'm about to fly back to hong kong, and so I'll leave you with this quick snap.

Or maybe it's just 1977 Texas phil? I wish he had worn a giant belt buckle and some plaid.
And since we're hanging out in the office, let me tell you about the building. Our building is a U shape and you can see Ginnifer's office from the developer pen. Late in the afternoon (or maybe early evening), I heard someone calling my name. At first I thought it was coming from outside and i was really confused. That's when I saw ginnifer and Anna waving from the other side. Why hello ladies!
Ps. I was going to take a pic of me with a penciled in philstache, but morm called and we schemed for a bit and I got distracted and then I forgot and now I'm lazy. Gnight!

I need a haircut something fierce. When my bangs get long I stop straightening my hair because it just doesn't work out with the wavybang thing (and straightening those lasts like an hour). So this is me and my moonface and my I went to bed with wet hair and woke up and didn't run a brush through it look.
Ps. Randall says I look weird here but he can't figure out why. I think it's the moonface. Can someone explain to me how I weigh the same each year and yet my face keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger? I thought gravity worked the other way...

After work the new food gang (randall, dave, sara, and i -- I think we need a team name) headed out to the mission for dinner. We tossed a few ideas out earlier in the week and ended up deciding on Radish over on 19th. It's relatively new and it was apparently the place to be. Matt and his pal Melanie were at the table next to us, and Leslie and her crew were at the table next to them. That definitely gave the place a great vibe and the food matched well too. If you go, definitely do try the shrimp corndog. Super unexpected yum. As was the biscuit BLT (even if the biscuit didn't have the best structural integrity). I'd definitely go back again.
Sidenote: on our way to the restaurant, there was a group of folks who were giving out free hugs. I'm not totally sure why, but one girl had a tardis poster so I stopped to make a friend.

If you didn't know, I'm a sucker for new products, especially at the grocery store. Today i was running some errands and came across this guy. It's a milkshake ice cream item where you just add milk. Um, isn't that all milkshakes? Naturally, I had to try it out. I decided not to read all the ingredients but I'm sure there was something completely artificial that made the ice cream melt a bit in order to make it slushy. As for the taste, it was just alright. Defintely milkshake-like, but I think i'll stick to the real thing.

This evening I headed out to help sweenkat celebrate her birthday. She's joining the ol' lady gang and went out with a big shebang. The back room at rosewood (a cracking great spot) was decorated to the nines with loads of great treats (homemade by the birthday girl even).
Before the shindig I met up with Angelica, Morgan, Kristy, and Niño at don pistos. We devoured dinner and then headed to the bar. We had a great time and the party was a blast. Happy birthday sweenkat!!
Ps. Thank you Morgan for bestest pizza idea! Glad you got a new slice after you dropped yours on the ground.
Pps. Thanks to Jamie and Joel for offering rides home!
Ppps. Um yes. Those are my new glasses.

This evening I left work kinda late. I was trying to organize my brain and was failing a bit so I left. Unfortunately muni decided to go bezerk right at that time. When the train got to civic center they kicked us all out and I the platform was a zoo. I decided at that point that it was time to abandon the muni and taxi home. When the cab pulled up to my house I could hear a loud rumbling and then lots of crazy noise coming from inside my house. When I got to the front door it was pretty clear that it was the tv, but I couldn't figure out why it was so loud. I walked in and discovered why. Star wars bluray. I literally had to shout to say hello. Nerd Friday indeed.

As some of you may know, yesterday I cracked a tooth. Actually, I was mistaken, it wasn't a tooth, it was a crown I had put on years and years ago. Still this meant I had to go to the dentist to get it fixed (yay for doc Freeman for squeezing me in today). It took forever, but step one is done. step two happens next week.
Why do I look so happy in that pic? Well, they let me watch 30 rock, and also the drugs were kicking in.
Ps. Sorry for gross closeup of tooth. I just think the little camera tools that take pics of your teeth are cool.

Today was officially the moon mid-autumn harvest festival holiday. Growing up I never really celebrated outside of the eating of the mooncakes and not really understanding why. And these days it's mainly the same, only I do have an odd foundness for going to temple.
For the record I never went as a kid, and I don't consider myself a religious person. I am however a superstitious person and there's something about this place just makes things make sense. So I go on the holidays. And as the one guy (aka monk, but really just a guy because you'd never know he was a monk especially given his totally sweet airbrushed dragon shirt) said, we don't care if you bring money or offerings just bring yourself and we'll try to help your soul.
That makes it sound churchy. It's not. No sermons, no preaching, no talking to anyone if you don't want to. Just show up, do your thing in your head, play the fortune telling stick toss, be at peace, and be on your merry way. Any real Buddhist would be totally appalled by my practice and lack of understanding. I don't know the stories or the practices or the why. I've never read any religious tomes or practiced any sort of way of being. I just know that this particular place feels cozy and nice and so I go (I haven't found another that feels this way, although I haven't really looked). Does this make me a religious person? I don't think so. Spiritual perhaps but not religious. Like i said, I am pretty ignorant. Like a Christian who doesn't know who Jesus is. I've thought about learning more, but to be honest I like the unnamed thing I've got going and am not sure I want to ruin it by trying to force legitimacy on to it.
In other news morm put me to work appropriately harvesting items from her garden (including an entire basket full of chives whose smell I can't remove from hands hours later). The dinner feast she made (including a so good pork leg dish and a stir fried chive and fishcake dish) was so worth it though. Uncle Ben and annie aiyi joined us and afterwards we pigged out with cheesecake. There was too much though so I brought some to sena on my way out of town. Her mom gave me mooncakes and other treats in exchange.
Man I love pig family.
