this evening the games team headed across the street for a happy hour meeting. we were supposed to have a meeting earlier in the day, but it kept getting pushed back. it ended up being so late that brian just decided to have it across the street at metropol instead. my friends, this team is a good. i'm excited to see what happens next.

the office today was a literal sweatshop. we're on the 15th floor and have direct sun shining on us all day. it's normally not an issue, but on hot days like today, it's misery. we all wilt and sweat and melt to our seats. because of this, i left early. at 5:15 i couldn't take it anymore and headed home. with the extra bit of time (for comparison sake, i left the office after 7 yesterday), i decided to cook dinner. i picked up a bunch of great veggies at the farmer's market and decided to roast them, puree them and turn them into a delicious soup. yes, i know, soup on a hot day is stupid. but it's so delicious and besides fresh chicken tortilla soup is really a summer soup. if the veggies aren't delicious and ripe, then the soup is bland. lucky for me, the veggies were great. and lucky for samshrew and chris, i knew there'd be extra, so i invited them over. they're our go-to meat-eater pals, and i don't feel the need to clean for them, so they luck out on the nomminess.

Although I felt a bit ridiculous going to the movies on an amazingly gorgeous evening, I was glad I went and saw Catfish. DK had hooked Randall and I up with access to tonight's screening, which was great because the filmmakers were actually there to discuss the movie. I'm thrilled for that because I really want to discuss it, but I can't. Because if you haven't seen it, you want to know nothing about it, but you want to see it. You do. And don't watch the trailer. First of all it's misleading, secondly you really want to know nothing about this movie. It's fascinating, and knowing what happens will ruin it. So just go see it.
And then afterwards, you can go get pizza. That's what i did.
Ps. Randall says his double photo action here is like this mini countryman commercial. I thought the countryman was cool a while back, then i thought it was too big and not worth it, but man after seeing this commercial i have to say, they sure are cute as a swarm.
