Let me start by saying that you should put aside your feelings towards
Michael cera and go see Scott pilgrim. If you have ever loved a video
game and haven't seen it, you are truly missing out. Sure there are
plot holes and sure you have to completely suspend belief, but it was
haaawwesome. KO for Edgar wright and team!
This evening chris asked us if we wanted to go see it -- we were
actually thinking of going the night before, but Randall felt sick,
today he is better, so the timing was perfect. We had spent the day
running domestic errands and a fun outing was definitely needed.
The day itself was actually pretty good. I picked up the drycleaning
and then my glasses. The lenses had been crafted and I am now
officially a glasses wearer. I am not sure what I think. I don't love
the frames as much as I did before (let's just say they look really
different depending on how clean my hair is) but they're still fun.
Plus we went to three more glasses shops today and I didn't see
anything I liked more, so I guess that's a good thing. Randall however
did find new ones (he's the reason we went to all those shops). He
almost got a pair of enchanted reindeer horn frames (seriously this
particular line of frames is blessed by a Swedish grandmother or
something like that), but ended up deciding they looked too similar to
his current frames. He went a direction I did not anticipate, but the
lenses are being crafted, so we'll leave that story for another day.
They're good though.
Afterwards we had late brunch at chloe's cafe (cinnamon croissant
French toast with fresh strawberries) and then went to room and board
were we test drove couches for way too long. We finally decided on the
one to get (new couch has been on the list for almost three years)
only to come home and measure and realize that it won't really fit.
*insert gripe about how if only I had 1 more foot of space in each
direction here* Guess it's back to couch surfing for us.
Ps. Chris pointed out that my shirt (a chow shirt with a bunch of
knives on it) was highly appropriate for the film. I wonder if it's
coincidence or if the chow designer was a hardcore Scott pilgrim fan.
(there is a character called knives chau - pronounced chow, get it?)
