i got my hairdid yesterday, and once again laura worked her magic. originally she thought we'd go choppier bangs, but in the end i made her round them out. what i can i say, i can't seem to get enough of that pomelocat.

here's an outtake from tomorrow's actually nevermind project. sometimes i forget about the words and end up having to take pictures at home. it's a huge shame, mostly because they end up being self-portraits, randall, or random trinkets from my house. it's particularly annoying this time, because yesterday i had a really good photo at my feet, but i forgot about the words. i always forget about the words.
in other news man things seem busytown.

maybe it was the wine and partying i did on wednesday, or maybe it was when randall forgot to turn the heater on and sat in the damp and cold house all day, or maybe it was just something else, but whatever it was another cold has descended upon our house. there are achey joints, runny noses, and coughs that won't ever go away.
needless to say, it's best to stay away. we've stocked up on orange juice, day and nyquil, kleenex, and video games. there are lots of hours of video games. netflix too. we're solid, and we'll see you when we get better.
I can't believe the decade is coming to a close. 2010 seemed intangible and now it's just around the corner. It's hard to believe it's been ten years since college and the like. Those days of youthful do whateve are long gone, and while a lot has changed since then, a lot hasn't. (fact: randall and i have nearly been together for ten years, how's that for blowing your mind?)
As I wondered about what had changed, I started to think about my tastes. Movies and TV are pretty much the same, although these days I don't watch many movies and I like my TV a little quirky indie-fied (whereas back then it was not much TV and movies were quirky indie-fied). And my music is sort of the same too. And unlike movies and TV where I refuse to watch anything more than once (even if I can't remember what the hell it's about), I will listen to songs over and over and over again. Some might even call it obsessive. So in an effort to figure out what I've been obsessing over the last ten years, I decided to join in on this decade-end wackiness and compile a list of my top 50 songs from the aughts.
This has been ridiculously difficult.
As I mentioned, I get a little compulsive, and i really love music, so I think it might end up more like 100. I mean, some of these have not held up over the years at all, but they're the ones I loved at the time. It would be lying to myself not to include them. Even if that means admitting to you all that Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous was once my summer jam.
So where's the list? Ladies and gentlemen, patience. Lists like these don't create themselves in an evening. I'll post it as soon as I'm positive I haven't forgotten something.
in case you missed it, i hate waashing my hair. and to be honest i actually dislike superclean hair. mostly because when it is clean, and airdryed, it is a giant puffball. and folks this is with sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. you should've seen it before i switched brands. then it was like a giant lion's mane.
ps. i forgot to do an after photo, and now i'm tired and cranky so good night.
i woke up this morning with a weird itchy bugbitelike welt on my back. it drove me crazy unti i got to work and forgot about it. at the grocery store after work i noticed i had a weird one on my arm too. then ,while i was in the kitchen i saw some flying bug, or a piece of lint, i couldn't tell which it was.
everyone else is worrying about swine flu, but i'm positive i'm going to catch west nile.
icymi, i am a huge ian brown fan. and it seems to me that us ian brown fans are a special breed. we're ridiculous in our fervor. disciple-like even. and our ridiculousness sort of matches our hero. i mean the man has a track jacket with his own face on it -- that's what we're dealing with folks -- and you know what? now i do too.
and for those of you who are wondering who in the hell ian brown is. here's a single off his new album. he actually wrote this track for rihanna, but liked it so much he kept it for himself.
this is not what i had in mind for tonight's photo at all. and there were several opportunities to make an interesting photo (including when jared and jerusha hess were on an escalator behind us), but i blew them all. so instead i am going to tell you about a song i'm obsessed with. it's an old song from the 60s called 'In the Year 2525' and i can't get enough of it. I first heard it a few weeks ago and then tonight it was front and center in a movie. funny how the universe works that way.
also apologies for the shoddy photoshop execution, i was going for something more like an old book cover, but well stupid deadlines, and laziness has prevented me from making something awesome. you get mediocre instead.
to make up for it, i'm going to leave you with this ian brown cover of 2525 (the first version i heard a few weeks ago).
