This evening Randall and I jumped into the countryman and headed across the bay. Lisa and chris invited us over for an evening of rock band and mixed cocktails. We also ate some tasty broiled plums with ice cream. Little mochi dog (pictured below) even snuck in and ate some while we weren't looking.
At the halftime we took a pause from rock band to hit up some rapstar. I'd never played before but managed some off the chains. Also I always forget how long and slightly ridiculous rapper's delight is.
Thanks for having us over. Fun times!

But today we fight!
Okay, there wasn't actually any fighting today. That's just the title of a lithograph I did a few years ago and finally got around to framing today (along with a few other pieces that needed frames for years). I managed to finally get that chore crossed off the list. So yay for productive days off.
I was also productive in the kitchen. I thawed some three year old cake (dont judge that fondant sealed flavor in like brand new) and I even made some delicious pork belly. I did the David Chang recipe and while it was good, I felt like it was missing something.
You know what else is missing? My old mattress. These guys came and took it away and delivered a new one in it's place. Now if you don't mind me, it's time to go sleep on a cloud.

After work some of the game crew went out to dinner at don pistos. Adam (erin's beau) works there and we thought it would be a fine place to celebrate. Kate planned the hijinx (as the newly pregnant lady she gets to choose), so Josh, Erin, tod, his gal judy, and i went along for the ride. Besides don pistos is actually really delicious and bonus, their hamburguesa was just added to the 7x7 100 things you need to eat list. After eating it tonight, I understand why. That thing was like the perfect burger. It melded into one perfect mass of bun, burger, and condiments. Plus, the spice was nice. I would definitely eat this burger again. And I highly recommend you give it a try too.
Afterwards we walked around north beach and ended up at Stella pastry. We ran into Q, his boyfriend, and their crew while there. Erin took the opportunity to show off her new star wars book with special platform. Needless to say, she was a hit with the geek crowd.

Today was sort of a perfect day, the weather was great and the schedule relaxing. It was the sort of day weekends should always be. Here's the rundown of my day:
- wake up
- read magazines
- eat cinnamon cereal
- play video games
- clean the bathroom (booo on this one)
- do the dishes
- fold laundry
- eat Thai sweet potato soup
- check out some good open houses (this is the first one we should bid on but probably won't) and one we'd been to before a couple years ago
- hang out at ocean beach (the wind was too weak for kites but my image allows us all to pretend)
- grab a bubble tea
- wander the outer sunset window shopping and eating candy
- shop at sunset super for some Asian pantry staples
- chat with my dad
- roast a delicious chicken for dinner (thanks to fresh sage & thyme from Laura)
- skype with morm (seriously one of my favorite things ever)
- wash my hair (yay clean bathroom)
- veg out with a little teevee
- cry because the weekend is about to end

This afternoon lizzy and I headed to 54 Mint to meet up with Lisa L, a biz partner based in LA. We had never met in person, so it was a fun treat. She's exactly what I anticipated after talking to her the first time and I liked her loads. We had a good business conversation, and a fun time overall. Plus, the weather was great today so we dined al fresco. So fun! Thanks for lunch Lisa, so great to meet you in person!
Later in the afternoon Scottel and I started talking about kat's mini and how she's selling it. I joked about wanting it and he told me that she was in town for the day. So she swung by, picked me up from the office, and then we met Randall for drinks. We hung out in the parking garage for a while and man her car is cute and small and I want it. Sadly I can't drive a stick. Will it stop me? Argh. Probably. Or... Argh. Brain exploding. Can't decide.
After we mini'd around for a while we headed to jardiniere where the yumsugar gals were mixing drinks up. Gals, great job! But the two identical drinks were slightly different. Both were good, but which was right?! Yum or party? Either way so fun for you!
Once we had our drinks and bored a bunch of people's ears off with car talk (for the record if click and clack ever retire, I suggest that Kat and Randall take their place. I would listen to that show), we headed out for foods. We went to frijtz where they were giving meals away as long as you took a bling card. You didn't even have to activate it. Just take it. Beers included! Talk about a good surprise.
When the meal was finished, we headed back to the garage where we made the minis kiss. Man ours is a fatty. I can barely believe this photo is real.

It's been that kind of a day.
In other news Randall says I have a fake smile. Um, how does he not know this is a fake smile?
Ps. If you have not had Russian river's consecration beer yet, please do yourself a favor. It's great beer even for nonbeer drinkers, and maybe especially great beer for wine drinkers.

You can't tell by my expression, but I hate ironing. I never do it and usually just take the clothes that need ironing to the dry cleaner (especially since we all learned about the cheap cleaner). However for some reason there was about 10 clean things that needed ironing and I just couldn't justify taking them to the cleaners. So I ponied up and ironed the damn things. Buttoned up shirts all week!

They pick up dry cleaning, obviously. It's the totally hip thing to do. Forgo happy hour and hang with the clean clothes.
To her credit, kellan was just making a errand run before a night out. Me, i'm nerd fridaying it with Randall. We ate pizza and drank wine. I fell asleep for a few hours, but I'm awake now. I'm 15% thru the third hunger games book and wouldn't be surprised if I finish tonight. (that's right, I started Tuesday and already devoured book 1 & 2. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'd wholeheartedly recommend the series.)
