The gang catches crabs

This week sugar folks from all over the globe descended into the office for some holiday bonding. Christina and Kim from the NY office demanded that Julie take them to PPQ again and when I heard they were going I knew I had to join them. Tod, Ann, and Randall also joined us for the crab feast, which was great because we got to order three types of crab: drunken, roasted, and peppercorn. We also got the spring rolls, the garlic noodles, and fried bananas. Oh and tea, but then Julie spilled it all over because we are barbarbarians like that.

Ps. This might be my favorite photo of Julie ever.

my style inspiration must be some cartoon

I don't know which one, but there are definitely days where i am
pretty sure I look like a cartoon character. Today was one of those
days. My new old sears dress (score for $7), red shoes, and gold
headband pretty much scream animated.

After work I stopped by banana republic to see what my luck might
bring. Unfortunately there wasn't any cartoon character appropriate
clothing, however there was free wine, pomtinis, and raspberry
cheesecake tarts. No seriously, free drinks at BR. My 22 year old self
would've been pretty stoked. Oh who am I kidding, my 32 year old self
was pretty stoked too. And yes I did just use the word stoked.

Riding trains just for fun

Actually that is a lie, I'm not riding the train home at 9.45am just
for fun, I'm riding it home because I'm a genius and left my computer
there. And I'm such a genius that I made it all the way to work before
I realized why my bag felt so light. This just means I have to walk up
this damn hill twice today. Also this hill sort of nullifies the
shower I took after the gym this morning. Sorry, you probably didn't
need that visual.

Oh well, I suppose it was bound to happen. I've been lugging this
machine back and forth for four years. I'm actually surprised it
didn't happen sooner. At least it's gorgeous outside and I've got my I
voted sticker to keep the last minute political campaigners away. And
it could be worse I could've forgotten my keys too... Oh phew, for a
second I really did think I'd forgotten those too. Yay for little
things?

Potsticker party for two

This evening Tod and I had detention and stayed at work late. This
meant I didn't get home until around 8:30. Although there was a quick
stop at the grocery store to pick up potsticker skins. I made the
filling the other day but didn't have any skins. Originally I wanted
to go to the Asian grocery store to get the brand of skins I like, but
with the detention I had to settle for what was at safeway. They came
out pretty tasty anyway. I should know, I ate an entire bowl of them.
So fast, I didn't even get their pictograph.

Pizza party

Before this evening's skee ball game, Laura and I grabbed a slice at
nizario's. The crust is bready good, but pizza is overall just so so.
It also does not, for the record, contain any sort of magic skeeball
powers. In fact it might be the opposite. My game was terrible
tonight. I had a lot of excuses but truth is I just sucked it. We had
last week off and the lack of practice showed. I rolled as if I hadn't
ever skee'd before. Sorry ordinay skeeple, I clearly need a do over!

Overwhelmed by the plot

This afternoon a gang of us (lizzy, reiko, and kellan) decided to go
to freshii, a new lunch spot. Angelica decided to join us, and we were
going to meet her in the lobby. You see our company is so big now,
we're actually on two floors. Only once we got to the lobby we went
into autopilot and walked out the front door. We got across the street
when I realized we lamely forgot Angelica. I ran back for her and then
we were off to freshii. When we got there Ian brown was on the radio,
and a gal in a fancy outfit greeted us. I have never been to a salad
bar place where there was a greeter before, but after a few minutes I
understood why. The menu is overwhelming you pick a base (salad, soup,
wrap or bowl), then the premium ingredients, then the basic
ingredients then the dressing. It was like filling out the SATs.
Seriously, Angelica and I didn't know where to begin and she actually
ended up doubling down on the tofu on accident. The salad itself was
pretty good but seriously they need to cut the lettuce. As kellan
said, it's like we were giraffes.

Later, after work, I met up with ms jessi where we schemed and plotted
over a couple of beers, some sushi, and a bottle of wine. We've only
got our outline situated, but I think we've got our plan!
