Cuckoo for coconuts

I can't explain it, but lately I am addicted to coconut water. I
grabbed it once on a whim and ever since then I have been hooked. It
was on sale at safeway and I made Randall buy every last one. When
those ran out I saw them on sale at whole foods and bought all of
those too. I can't stop drinking these. I can't even touch regular
water anymore. I particularly like the coconut pineapple, but will
take whatever I can get.

In other news, I am loving this extra hour of sleep.

The daily grind

I have a confession to make. I'm a teeth clencher and grinder. In fact
I even wear a tiny night guard each night to help prevent this. I know
it sounds nerdy, but it's true.

I got the night guard a little over two years ago and I completely
wore a groove in it from where my teeth scrape back and forth each
night. Because of this, the grinder (which is what I call my night
guard) became totally ineffective. I know this because I've been
waking up in the morning with awful tension headaches from where I've
been clasping my jaw together like a sprung bear trap.

To stop this from happening, my dentist is kindly (thanks to a thing
called money) rebuilding it for me. Here I am testing it out. It seems
to work fine, but all the clenching to make it fit correctly and lying
upside down in the dentist chair (plus the crazy headache I was
already nursing) really did me in. On my way back to work, there was a
split second where I thought I was going to throw up all over
Montgomery street. I didn't, but it was a close call.barf

How goth of me

This afternoon the bella gals were testing out a bunch of black
lipsticks. There was one lipstick without a model and so I volunteered
to help out. I thought it looked ridiculous and then I thought it made
me look badass. Total ridiculous badass.

In other news I've had a headache that just won't go away for hours
now. Bleh.

Ol pals make me say opa!

This afternoon Randall and I drove down to San Jose for some super
nerd time: star wars symphony in concert and then some shopping at
fry's. Afterwards we headed down to Los gatos to meet up with the
delightful karenlee. She's in town for a wedding and was staying with
her parents (hence the Los gatos). We haven't seen her since our
wedding and it was great to catch up. She's one of the reasons i'd
actually consider moving to NY. To hell with all the culture and 24
hour anything you want and bars open until 4, ny has karenlee and that
would make it worth it.

Oso suita!

Today turned out to be a pretty nice day (probably one of the last
before we stop wondering when summer starts and admit winter defeat),
and luckily we were able to spend it outside. Burger recently added an
addition to her family, and today she was throwing an it's a boy
picnic in Dolores park. The boy in question is this sweet lil' puppy
named oso. The pound was going to out him down, so she picked him up.
He's super sweet and really well behaved. Best of all is that he gets
along with big sis suita. It may not be the most conventional, but it
is one of the cutest families I know.

Hanging with the wall flowers (happy birthday Blake!)

This evening we broke from the usual nerd Friday routine by hanging
out with a few other nerds. It was blake's birthday and he was having
an ice cream and tasty beverage party. But before we went, Randall and
I met up with Alejandra and ammon. We had some tasty foods and caught
up with old pals. A hearts A are expecting a baby soon so we gotta see
them now while we can!

Afterwards, we all headed to blake's where we wished him a happy
birthday, had some ice cream floats, and then took the nerd spots on
the couch. We wallflowered the party for a while and then promised to
take the birthday boy to dinner another time. It's just been a long
week.

Ps. Randall says the terrorist bump should now be called the Nobel
peace bump.

I forgot what I was supposed to call it

This evening I headed over to anneh's house for the Wednesday top
model routine. She makes food, I gobble it up, and both of laugh at
tyra. She does it for work and I figure it's a pretty good way to
celebrate the middle of the week.

Usually I try to use the show for inspiration. I figure there's got to
be a ridiuclous outfit, hairdo, makeup, or expression that I can mimic
for your viewing pleasure. However tonight -- while thoroughly
entertaining -- wasn't very inspirational. The girls all had huge
messy hair, and let's face it, I can already do huge messy hair, so
what's the point.

Not knowing what else to do, I quickly snapped this pictograph.
Lawrence once asked me how many outtakes I do each day. Sometimes,
especially if there's makeup or a costume involved, there's many.
Other times there's just a few. Today there was just this one.

Food nerd Friday

This evening Randall and I were going to run some errands and then go
on a date. We got the errands taken care of but experienced a date
fail. We wanted to go to gialina in glen park (it was on the way home
from the errands and I wanted to try it), however the wait was too
long so we bailed. Neither of us could figure out what to eat for
dinner, so we ended up at the new whole foods store. It's in Noe
valley and is between gialina and our house, so we sort of just ended
up there.

And while it wasn't a date so to speak, I had an oddly good time. But
that's because I'm lame and love new stores. Also I'm a food nerd so I
love seeing all the different products. And I swear this store must
have a different buyer than the other ones in the area, because there
were some tasty things I'd never seen before (plus skyr!).

Sometimes it's the little things that make life good.

October is time for Scary things

There is an amazingly weird swag table at work. And sometimes things
like a random scary mask ends up on it. Angelica tipped me off to this
gem and I thought it would be a fun addition to the prop box. Boo! You
ready for Halloween?

And yes, there's a prop box.

Am I smizing? More like cryzing.

Went over to anneh's house this evening. Yes folks the latest season,
er I mean cycle, of america's next model has started and this means
it's photoshoot Wednesdays at anneh's house.

Today Tyra had the girls wrapped in ridiculous scarves. I particularly
loved the two who had to have their faces covered. I was hoping to
acheive that look, but clearly my scarves aren't opaque enough. Oh
well at least this way you can see my eyes. I was trying to smize (you
know smiling with my eyes), but I look more like I'm crying. I mean
cryzing.
