every day's a new dumb adventure

Ahoy matey!

Today I steered my life downtown for the Randall beautification
project. He's not much of a shopper but has an upcoming meeting that
calls for something that, well, looks less than three years old and
isn't covered in funny animals. It was definitely a long and
exhausting excursion but luckily I found a boat wheel to make sure we
were right on course.

Ps. My favorite part of the day was that fact that we were able to run
all these errands, eat lunch at a great sandwich place, and yet never
once had to get into a car.

Life from afar

This evening I dragged anneh and Randall to 15 romolo for the Afar second issue wrap party. We were there to support miss April whose name appears in the masthead. If you're unfamiliar with afar, it's a new travel magazine designed for folks interested in learning more about the world, and travel that's out of the ordinary. It's smart and fun and filled with cool things like a feature on carsick cars (my fave Chinese band that I told you about in July '08), treehouse hotels and unexpected travel destinations. So stop by your local bookshop and pick up a copy. If nothing else you'll keep my pal April employed and that would be good because I'm pretty sure she owes me lunch.

ps. I wanted to take a pic with April tonight but I am lame and forgot.

pps. here's some carsick cars for your listening enjoyment.

The view as I see it

Our house doesn't have a full length mirror. Instead it has a closet
door covered in 1960s era mirrored squares. Only the mirrors are
really old and slightly goldtinted and don't really reflect much
light. In fact, I had to bump this photo up a few brightness notches
just so you could see. The gold tint has been the culprit of many ill-
conceived color combos. Like gray black forest and olive because you
know I thought they were all shades of gray.

Wel(lington)come home anneh

Today dragged on like a snail stuck in honey. Meaning It was short and
sweet and then took forever. When it finally ended, i arranged to meet
anneh at bi-rite where we grabbed some snacks, some drinks and then
had the car service (aka Randall) pick us up.

Once we had snacks in tow, we headed to my house where we dined al
fresco in the warm (for sf) air. It was a good night. Anneh's been
through a bit of an emo time lately (and I mean emotional time, not
some bad dyed choppy hair dark clothes hot topic time) and I thought
she could use an evening with pals who double as court jesters.

When she left I charged her up with a few smooches. It's good to have
your i'm loved meter full during tough times.
