but is it too much? (aka why I married him)

I got this great coat/shirt/dress thing (no one is really sure on what it is) the last time I went thrifting with juju. I washed it and then totally forgot about it, leaving it to languish in my basement (that's where the laundry is) only to discover it yesterday. Meaning I had to wear it today.

When I left the house this morning, I popped on these white sunglasses. Before I actually stepped foot out the door, I asked randall if they were too much (you know with the shirt and the bobble white earrings and all). He just looked at me and said, "It's already too much, what's one more thing?"

Ladies and gentlemen, that is why I married him.

A bit of a hangover

This evening deerdree took randall and I to see the hangover. I thought it was really funny and definitely har har har'd my fair share of laughs. Sure there are some offensive things in it, but it never got lame and never relied on crass humor to carry it along. I appreciate that. Also ed helms is fantastic in it. Sure it's the ed helms character, but he was still great.

Beforehand we stopped at the sushi boat place in the japantown mall for dinners. That place (the mall) is so odd. It seems like the place that time is trying to forget.

Ps. I can't believe it's only tuesday

Where I unironically ironically tell you how I'm not a hipster

Yesterday I was explaining to allison all the ways in which I'm not a hipster. You see I'm not. Sure there's some hipster tendencies, but I honestly don't think of myself as part of a hipster crew. Of course, as I was telling her about an uber-hipster I saw, I started the tale with, "I was at thrift town the other day..." And then stopped dead in my tracks. Man I sounded douchey.

Then today, after I took the daily picture (in a cab on the way back from beer o'clock) I saw the result and groaned. Look at that fucking hipster.

On a top secret mission

Today dk wanted to know if I could escort her to the ferry buikding at lunch. She was on a mission to buy cute lil' sweets for miss katie sugz's birthday tea party.

After debating for too long on food choices, we finally made our way back, mission accomplished.

Ps. I was cool enough to join on the mission but not cool enough to be invited to the cute party. I see how it goes.

Pps. Sorry miette but those rose flower old lady perfume flavored meringues are terrible. That did not however, stop me from making everyone else try them.

Ppps. Tonight anneh and i are going to prove that two olds equals young. See you at bottom of the hill for jens!

falling into the regular pattern

This noon, I picked up samshrew and drove into the past. Davita and her brood were visiting her mom and it had been a long time since we'd seen each other, and even longer since we'd all been together.

Growing up we were like sisters, and spent at least three days (and nights) together each week. We were raised like siblings and had many adventures together. It's a long convoluted stupid and slightly heartbreaking story as to why our friendship was put on pause, and so I was a little bit worried that things would be awkward. However my worries were for nothing. Conversation flowed freely and we caught up without missing a beat. I guess that's what good friends are all about.

Good times were had by all, and man those kids sure are cute.

Fun with the famry

First, a quick disclaimer, this picture took far too long to take. I either held the camera at the wrong angle or someone would step out of the frame, or close their eyes. The end result is alright, but for how much time it took, it should've been stellar.

this morning I woke up late, but because of the weather I thought it was early (it wsas really dark in our house). Today was one of those days where you want to stay in your pjs and curl up with some bad movies. Sadly we had things to do. Also, sadly is not really the right word, we had a day of fun lined up, so don't feed bad that I couldn't just vegetable out.

First up was the k and s wedding tier three picnic party. While there, randall gave pony rides to the kids and we drank root beer from a keg. While there we got a call from bao who was randomly in town. So we packed up the kites and headed to samshrew and chris's house for famry hijinx. We walked the pup, ran around in circles and then said farewell.

We invited them to little star (where we were meeting up with chuckles, anneh, and scottel) but they said no. We went without them and then waited a million years for our table. Once we were seated, we, stuffed our faces in a happy way. But the most magical part was that they sat someone next to our table and it was haeyoung. I hadn't seen her in about 12 years. Talk about a random reuinon.

Afterwards we headed to the independent where we are currently waiting with liz and her pals to see the dears! Who are, if you don't know, my favorite band. Oh and we also scored seats, so bonus old lady points.

Shin and karen married

I don't really need to say any more. Except maybe that I love it.

Ooh la la la pals

The weekend has begun. Tomorrow is the karen shin wedding extravaganza, but today is for pals.

After work we ran a bunch of errands, walked a sushi dog, napped, and then met up with scottel (who's in town for the wedding bonanza) and anneh. We ended up grabbing food from the new french truck (think taco truck but with stuff like skate cheeks and escargot puffs) and then heading across the street for wine at terroir. The food was pretty tasty (although it got cold quickly), but the atmosphere at terroir was bleh, think techno dance club music and jerkface bartender (if it's just a wine bar, is he still a bartender?).

Afterwards we met up with the very best wes and juju for some more sfpopfest fun. Also they are pals with the folks in ballboy so we are hobknobbing with the band.

Ps. I am totally gonna karaoke tonight.

Pps. I am going to try and attach two photos via bberry. Let's see what happens.

Ppps. Sorry wes, someone can photoshop you into one of these pics.

Learning from losing (damn that bird)

Today is karen's hen party (that's her in the middle) and to celebrate, a gaggle of us headed over to golden gate fields to bet on some ponies (note: I do not recommend betting based on which one is prettier, as that apparently doesn't mean they're winners, don't trust the ones that bat their eyes eithers).

Since it also happened to be kentucky derby day, the track was having a hat contest. Our hats, as mighty as they were, did not even come close. The preliminary judges had some questionable choices. I mean they did not pick mine and it had a chirping bird on it. Seriously, a motion activated bird.

Speaking of birds, can we talk about mind that bird for a second (that's today's derby winner for those of you that don't know)? I found out we were leaving after the derby so I took my leftover money and decided to bet on a bad odds horse. Mind that bird had caught my eye earlier and I since I had a bird on my head, I figured it was perfect. But then I was influenced by the bachelorette party bad penis straw jokes and opted for the horse that ended in private, because you know privates and all. Gwah. I should've gone with my gut. What a lame call. Let's just say that while it was only a small nick to my pocketbook, it was a big loss.

Ps. Somehow I managed to stay sober so far.

Pps. Next stop little star, followed by something with belgian beers, and then a night of dancing for annie's birthday

Ppps. We are chasing all the old people away with our horrible conversations

Where are the editors?

Today's beer o'clock has a pretty good turn out, but I've been asked to point out that there are no editors. Molly, your gals have let you down.

Also, folks who are not here you are missing out on top shelf tequila shots courtesy of bsugz.

Ps. This is definitely setting the tone for the weekend.
