tonight randall and i met alejandra, ammon, margaret, and blake for some dinner. we needed to stay on a bart line, so we chose specchio since it is new and because alejandra had her eye on the beet salad. the food was pretty good, the service still new, and the atmosphere a little cold (but in that clean concrete and metal kind of way). if they can get their service together, i imagine it's going to be one of those hip mission places soon enough.
interestingly enough while the six of us dined at specchio, six of our other pals were dining just a block down the street at weird fish. i know this because on our way to specchio, we ran into karen, shin, laura, will, cyrelle and her pal who's name i forget (sorry pal) while they were waiting. oddly enough, i never run into folks and yet i've run into shin twice in the last week. he doesn't even live in this city. what?!
ps. everytime i would hear the beginning of this song by the handsome furs, i would go whaaat? am i crazy isn't that new order's tempation? well thank you internet for letting me know that i am not insane and that it is indeed a heavy homage to no's temptation. and the ending? that's sucking in the atmosphere.
