With everything that's been going on, Halloween sort of snuck up on me. I didn't have time to get a costume, so I followed julie's advice and just put a bird on it. No one really got it, but it's cool (if you wanna know check out this site). There were loads of good costumes at work though. Lots of tasty treats too.

This afternoon morm and bifi aiyi came to town. Randall and I have a feeling about a house (I know, I also thought we stopped looking, but here we go again) and we wanted morm to have a look. I'm going to leave the house talk at that though, don't want to hype it or jinx it or make it more than what it's supposed to be.

After the house, we headed back to the house where morm whipped us up a feast. I told morm about cindy's potsticker shower and she was more than a little inspired. Samshrew and chris stopped by too and morm put them all to work. She had us all making potstickers while she made pork belly Taiwan style. She also used two knives at once. Chop chop!

Before she left, samshrew had morm try on my glasses. The peanut gallery says they look better on her than me. Gwah gwah.

This morning Randall and I met up with Orion, becca, and mike. Somehow Orion convinced randall to go hiking on San Bruno mountain. We hiked the summit loop and did our best to identify all the parts of the city from a distance. I don't know that we succeeded, but we had a good time.

Afterwards I cleaned up quick and then headed to berkeley for cindy's bridal shower. Her grandma, mom, and aunt had us making potstickers and then fed us an extravagant feast. We accompanied it with some bubbly and some mahjong and called it a party.

At the end of the shindig we had loads of food leftover and breanna packed it up and shipped us out with it. Since i was in berkeley, I ended up taking platefuls over to jamers and his crew. After all, college students eat anything, right?

After a seemingly long week at work, a few of us hit up happy hour for a little unwinding. I stayed for one drink and then met up with Anneh. She and I were heading to beauty bar to meet up with Dylan and Randall and check out chuckles as dj. It's been a while since le chuck dj'd and it was fun to see him in action. Unfortunately wizards needed food and so we bid farewell and headed to lolo for dinner. Some tasty bites later it was time to part ways and head home to nerd out.

After an evening at 826 (my young reporter is writing about animals with prosthetics) I made my way home and searched for dinner along the way. I ended up being lured into bi-rite where I had dessert first. Actually I had one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten: bi-rite vanilla ice cream (complete with vanilla bean specks) drizzled with blood orange olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. It was like a grassy dreamsicle and was heavenly. I didn't really want to ruin that flavor profile, but knew I needed something more substantial. I ended up stopping at rossi's deli (one of my neighborhood faves) and grabbing a turkey sandwich. While there my new pal said he'd read my palm. I told him sure and he said that it said I was going to have a turkey sandwich soon. Gee, how'd he do that?

Ps. Hello new coworkers I haven't met yet/ones who didn't know about this site before!

This afternoon Julie and and I headed up to her kitchen. The food there is by the pound and if you guess the weight exactly you get it for free. Well guess what? I got it on the nose! 1.25 pounds of food for free! (I always get the heavy stuff, also eyes bigger than my belly - I ended up saving a bunch for tomorrow.)

Thanks for the lunch venue choice Julie! Can we still get lunches when you're gone?

Ps. Words with friends big bump tonight. Playing against miss zale and scored 120 points in one round. What!?

Still in the office. We broke some stuff. No ice cream for us tonight, maybe no dinner either. Gwah gwah. There was however nerf gun fights. I think Lydia would be proud.

At lunch time DK, Kellan, Jordan and I ended up going to Muraccis for some grub. It was jordan's idea and the rest of thought it was a good one. Turns out we weren't the only ones who thought that. While there we ran into Lawrence! Guess he's renting desk space for his new idea around the corner from our office. And well, naturally we ran into him there. Go figure! Turns out this has been a week of former-sugar folks. Wonder who's next?

Thanks to Arthur I spent a gloriously warm "summer" afternoon out in the San Francisco bay. He gathered up a crew (I even swabbed the deck - okay really I just sprayed it down with a hose) and we hit the water. I'd never been on a sailboat before (at least not that I can remember) and had a super blast. Thanks again Arthur that was a blast. I had a bonkers good time!

Ps. I already owned this sailor hat. Honest.

It's been a long week and I kinda needed to take a day to do nothing. I heard about a new sandwich place called prime dip over in the tenderloin and thought that was the right speed for the day. Two dip sandwiches later, Randall and I were fueled up and ready to run a few errands. I wanted to stop by kinokinyia to check out some hair magazines (this lion mane needs some taming) and some headed to japantown. While wandering we found these sweet photo op stands. Pretty pretty sweet indeed.
