This afternoon I had a lunch meeting over by moscone center. On my way back I was walking past coffee bean and tea leaf and decided to pop in to say hi to Jason. I used to work with him back in the tower days and it's been a long time since i've seen him. He mentioned a while back that he's now the sf bean bossman (okay not his exact words) and that I should stop by. I keep meaning to, but it's always just a little out of the way. However today after many months of "going to", I finally popped in to say hi. Naturally, he had just left and i had to leave message. Gwah gwah. Next time Jason! We shall meet up next time!

Samshrew, chris, and sushidog moved outta town yesterday. Both chris and Sam were commuting down the peninsula and their spot in the way north part of town was not very ideal. So they packed up their stuff and moved to millbrae. I was a little sad to see them leave town, but truthfully, the drive to their new house only takes 20-25 minutes. Their old place here in the city took 15-20. So really it's not that big of a deal. Plus now they have a crazy view of the bay and airport, plus the worlds largest suburban backyard. Seriously, there's a creek running through it and paths with benches. In fact, I've seen much smaller parks. Something tells me BBQ duty just moved from our house to there neighborhood. You should all start petitioning them for a 4th of July party now.

It's totally time for bed. Most epic scheelbarrow outing ever. We started at the house, moved on to comstock saloon, then 15 romolo, had deliciousness at don pistos (thanks Adam!) and then finished it off with cake at Stella pastry. Not all of us made it to level 5 (see kele asleep in picture 2), but man, we were all in. And bonus, everything was delish.
And now it's time for all in bedtime.
Ps. Happy birthday little a!

I played hookey today and slept in way late. When I finally woke up, it took a while to get started. In fact i didn't even go to lunch until around 3.30. But before lunch, i swung by the beauty supply store where I picked up some new blue velvet hair color so I could touch up the blues. The underbangs had gotten really pale and needed to be redone. While I was at the beauty store, I noticed a cookie shop named bumzy's cookies. I'd never heard of it before so naturally I had to pop in. They were almost sold out of everything, but there was one sugar cookie left and it was great. It was more of a brown sugar caramel cookie and it had a great crisp crunch. Plus, they gave me a teeny cookie as a sample and were super sweet. Bonus points for all of that.
After the cookies, I ended up at the fatted calf in Hayes valley where I checked #67 the meatloaf sandwich off the list. It was pretty tasty, but the pulled pork picked up for Randall was better.
Ps. I never thought I'd use the hair dye shirt again.

After work I headed to 826 where the kids took turns reading their stories. I learned a lot about dogs and mermaids and hey did you know that the lochness monster was probably just an elephant?
Afterwards I started to head home, but the rain got me and I ducked into the summit where I enjoyed a delicious Mexican hot chocolate. Randall showed up a little while later and we decided to grab some weird fish. Only when we got there, it was strangely closed. Next we thought we'd hit up corner where they were doing a popup ramen event thing and the wait was forever. At this point we were soggy and wet and decided just to grab a slice and head home. We ended up at Arinell's where something wasn't quite right. The crust was good, but the sauce but the sauce and the cheese was off. Randall didn't seem to mind, he finished off my piece too.

We've got a lot going on at work, and so after our team meeting Josh, tod, ash, Reid, and I decided to grab early lunch and then hunker down. I assumed this meant we'd go grab something quick and come back to our desks. Apparently I was mistaken. When we got to paladar, someone said table for five and I just went with it. I used to be all about lunch, but lately I just want to go back and get all the work done. However the wee break was nice and it was fun to hang with my new nerd boys.
Ps. I love the way this looks like a bad band image
Pps. Brian mentioned today that it was the first launchmodeallhandsondeckproject powwow that I wasn't part of. I have to say it made me *tear* just a bit. I almost pulled up a chair in their war room, but that just would've distracted everyone. *pew* that's the sound of my fake tears.
Ppps. I was so foodcoma happy last night I totally forgot to say that as kellan and I left, we ran into Molly. Huzzah!

A few weeks ago, we put out a company wide challenge to help name our game currency. Kellan ended up being the winner with "pop stars", but then she heard I had actually suggested it first, but was ineligible to win. So she decided to be super nice and take me to dinner with her winnings. We ended up deciding to go bigger than the prize and got us a table at quince. Kellan had the lobster gnocchi, and guinea hen. I had the farm egg and the loup de mer. I liked the egg a lot, but thought the fish was a little on the salty side. The bread rolls, brioche, and wine were delicious, as was the dessert: budino. It was so delicious and the texture was unexpected. I may have licked the plate with my mind.
Thanks for sharing your winnings kellan! I had a great date! Let's do it again! How can we win us more money?!
Ps. We didn't actually have the romanty corner table, we were next to that one.

This morning as I was walking to work, I felt someone walking really fast behind me. To be considerate, I stayed to the left, they seemed to approach from the left, so then I swayed right, the footsteps then switched over and started giggling. Surprised, I turned around and saw miss Elsa! Although we live on similar commute routes, I rarely see her outside of the office.
We walked the few blocks to the muni and caught a train right away. We didn't realize why, but when we got to Montgomery station the peet's appeared to be shuttered shut and we remembered that it was president's day. Elsa, who hits up peets every morning, was upset to see they were closed. Luckily, we had jumped to conclusions. Turns out only the sides were shut, and the front was still open. Elsa was so glad, she even bought me an iced tea! My treat next time miss Elsa, thanks for making my commute brighter!

This morning Randall and I woke up late and then picked up anneh and Dylan and headed out to Potrero for brunch at plow. When we got there we were told it would be an hour wait. Normally I can't handle a wait, but farley's is right there and we thought it would be nice to catch up. So we went ahead and put our name on the list. And then we grabbed coffee and then we waited. And waited. And waited. They accidentally skipped us and so we waited some more. The food ended up being pretty good, but definitely not worth the 2 hour wait. And the service was really accommodating and comp'd us some delicious donuts and coffee cake, so it was hard to stay upset. That said, I'm not sure I'll be going back anytime soon. Although it seemed to be meetup central. We ran into val, Blake and chuckle's pal
LaurenNicole (i am stupid and always get her name mixed up). It was sort of overwhelming but always fun to see everyone.
Later that evening after resting and cleaning, samshrew, chris and sushi dog showed up for dinner. We (gasp!) roasted a chicken, and then ate some pie. Sushi dog didn't beg at the table but when I got up to clear some plates, she was up on her rear haunches. See, everybody loves that chicken.

When I go to a show I generally want to be as close as possible in order to take in both the sights and the sounds. However this evening we went to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor and there was no need to get up close. For starters there's no lights on the band (in fact half of them are in chairs, some not even facing you), but mostly it's not a band you watch. It's a band you feel. You just sit back and let the music wash over you. I had never seen them live before and thought I never would (come on, who even knew they were still together). Tonight's show went on for over two hours and from my point of view (an epic brooding post rock lover) it was phenomenal. Sure there were a few sleepytown parts, and sure there were spots were it maybe rocked just a little too hard for my personal taste, but overall it was enchanting. And bonus, this means we had an actual saturday night date night. I even did the gold eye makeup just for fun.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm still reveling in Godspeed and must go mope in the corner.
Ps. I can't believe how non-stop the rain was today
