Night cap Seattle style

Fridays before a long weekend are always a little bit ridiculous. It's hard to keep motivated, especially when you're in limbo and especially if the weather is gorgeous (which it was).

For lunch a few of us headed over to the ferry building for farewell Josh eats. We were about to leave when Josh said an ice cream sandwich would've been perfect. Lucky for him miette had just the right treat. Creme fraiche ice cream with Graham cracker cookies. Nom nom!

After lunch I bailed a little early to catch a flight to Seattle. Randall and I were headed to terminal 2 (bonus points for burger joint for to go beers you can drink at the gate) where we caught a flight in order to hang with amy and derrick.

Our flight was a little delayed so we went straight to the restaurant in order to make our reservation. Amy's more of a planner than I am, so she made us reservations at spinasse. I'd read about it since chef Jason Stratton was named a F&W best new chef, and amy made it happen. The food itself was mixed. Several dishes were phenomenal (angel hair with butter and sage blew my mind- especially considering I don't always enjoy pasta), but some just plain weird ("rabbit as tuna" cold pea salad was not worth it). Overall I would recommend, but suggest picking simpler dishes. I thunk Stratton's strength may be in making something simple taste beyond belief.

Afterwards we headed to artusi (Stratton's sister bar/eatery next door). I had a pretty great busted bicycle drink which was served in a fun carafe.

We hung out there for a bit and then declared it time to head home (boo on parking tickets). Naturally amy and d extended their hospitality by offering up a nightcap. And naturally I said yes. I mean it would just be rude not too, right?
