The Daily Sabs

This afternoon we started with happy hour on the 8th floor and followed it up with a little farewell party for andy over at trademark. There was a round of Jameson (seriously how has this become the farewell drink? And better question why have I had so many of them lately?) and more drinks. Needless to say it's sad to see him go. That said I'm excited to see what he's up to next!

It was also the last day of my newest security guard friend. He gives me a hard time and bad jokes every time I come back from the gym after hours. He's leaving us for a daytime gig at 44 Montgomery.

Every night I leave with bloodshot eyes and it looks like I've been getting high or crying all night. And yes, I'm wearing my glasses. It's just the lighting that's shit.

Rumor has it there's a deskswap coming up. Fingers crossed more than just my backside gets some natural light.

Previously, our random out to dinner date night was Wednesday post 826, but lately it's turned into Monday. I've started taking this pilates fusion class, and afterwards I meet up with Randall for some dindins. Tonight was Vietnamese food at Tin on Howard. It was pretty good, and the best part super cheap. They have a great grilled eggplant dish for $5. So worth it.

In other news, happy birthday lizzy! Those were some mighty purdy flowers. Wheredja get them?

Ps. Kellan made the momofuku crack pie to celebrate. Sadly I did not get any before it was gobbled up. Boooo!

This afternoon Randall and I met up with burger for some lunch snacks. We were originally going to go to the new mission outpost of giardana bros, buy it wasn't open yet. We had a time constraint so thought we'd hit up something else nearby. We wandered about and eventually ended up at urbun (yes, "bun") burger. I wasn't that into the idea, but it ended up being decent. The bread got too soggy from the sauce and made the second half not as delicious as the first.

Afterwards there were a bunch of errands to run and Randall and I also stopped by an open house. The price is right but it needs too much work. Also worth noting is the bathroom next door to the other bathroom. That's right one bedroom house with two full bathrooms. If that doesn't sound weird enough then how about the fact that you have to walk through one of then to even get to the bedroom. Oh San Francisco, your houses are so wacky.

Ps. Have you ever been to cookin'? I love that place but it's ridic. Such a fire hazard.

Today started out pretty slow (let's just say it had something to do with last night's choose your own adventure). Once I mustered up the energy to get out of bed I crawled to the couch and finished Limbo, a great little indie game on the PS3. After that it was time to head to the south bay. Tonight was mora compound poker night and we had a full table and a new playing style. I started off kinda strong, but the new play got me greedy and I crashed. These boys just invite me to steal my money.

Ps. On the way to poker, we stopped at Bon chan. It's no kyochan, but was still tasty crispy chicken.

Piece together these events on your own, okay? And yes that's a cop. And yes that's my new friend chris who split the most amaze curry fries from 2 green guys (a truck at the gas station at Castro and 17th). And yes randall's bossman went MIA. And yes randall's bossman's boss kept us partying hard. Goodnight.

After work I went to the gym where I got my butt kicked in some pseudo boot camp class. Mainly because I am horridly out of shape.) When I finished up I headed back to the office to finish up a few things. Arthur was still there and he seemed to be having a miserable time. I put something on his head in an awkward attempt to cheer him up. It was my what would Lydia do moment.

This evening Shannon and I hit up hand job, the local nail salon with the amazing name. They're a wee bit more expense than some of the other places, but they gave us each three mimosas, and dipped my toesies in "gun oil" wax. Nice midweek treat, thanks for organizing Shannon!

Steph (pictured on the far right) is in town from the NY office and to celebrate her presence, we went out for happy hour. Sadly steph worked later than she hoped and so happy hour started later than anticipated. That's okay though. What we lacked in early we made up for in late. First up was metropol with, the usual hangout with V, dk, and Julie, and then afterwards Kellan and I brought steph to barbacco. We ordered up our wine via iPad, and then feasted on a bunch of tasty treats. So delish!

This afternoon I accompanied Kellan on a zipcar adventure across town. We were looking through the lost and found at Luxor cab HQ, but sadly we didn't find what we were looking for. It was strange to be out and about during a work day, but sort of fun too.

When we got back Nicole was in the office with her new bambino. This one doesn't have teeth to bite yet, but she better watch it when he does.
