I'm not allowed (nor would I want) to share identifying info about the kids i hang out with on Thursdays. (You know, other than the fact that they're kind of awesome.) But this particular time around I have to share with you all how baffled I am. There is one kid im working with (let's just say their name is Pat) and in all honesty I can't tell you if it's a tomboyish girl or a beautiful boy and it's sort of driving me in insane. It doesn't really matter, the kid is rad either way. It's just that my brain is so curious. And because I don't know, nor do i want to be the cause of any issues, for the last four weeks I have dropped all pronouns completely. Friends, this is actually really hard to do. No his her he she. You try it. And after today I'm 99% sure I know the answer, but it's that nagging 1% uncertainty that looms. I know I'm never going to find out, and my curiosity will go unanswered, and that my pals is what kills me.

This evening jen and I jetted down to Hayes valley to partake in some ice cream. Jen loves the stuff and so I told her we'd hit up a new place each time she's in town (she's based out of new York).
First on the list was smitten, the make it with liquid nitrogen when you order, shipping container turned ice cream shop. We were going to go after dinner, but had a small wait for a table at domo. And since smitten closed at 9 we decided we should go for dessert first. We split three flavors: chocolate, olive oil, and salted caramel. Salted caramel was by far the best, although jen did say that the olive oil tasted like France.
Afterwards we grabbed sushi at domo where the first plate came with a flying ant. It's less yuck because it's like a fly and all the windows were open, but still yuck because it was on our sushi. They remade everything, but still not a food experience highlight. Sads. Good thing ice cream saved the day.
Ps. Bummed I forgot about straw, we'll have to eat there next time!
Pps. The weather today was just absolutely bananas amazing.

This evening Kellan and I popped into metropol for a quick brainstorming session. (sidenote: I forgot to check in and solidify my mayorship, boo.) We chatted about candy and sugar and other sweet things. When we were done we said farewell and I came home to a new package (lately it's been like Christmas). It was actually an impromptu purchase Randall made, but I took it over. Sifteo is a new fun toy item that is totally useless and strangely fun. You can download new games for it and play by connecting them together. Clear dots, build words, etc. The sdk isn't out yet but when it is, we're gonna nerd Friday us up our own games.

I need a haircut something fierce. When my bangs get long I stop straightening my hair because it just doesn't work out with the wavybang thing (and straightening those lasts like an hour). So this is me and my moonface and my I went to bed with wet hair and woke up and didn't run a brush through it look.
Ps. Randall says I look weird here but he can't figure out why. I think it's the moonface. Can someone explain to me how I weigh the same each year and yet my face keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger? I thought gravity worked the other way...

This morning I woke up sorta drowsy, like I had either overslept or slept poorly. I had a hard time getting going and sort of blamed the weather. I was kinda resigned to staying in all day, but then Randall made a comment about maybe finding dining chairs at the flea market. I think he meant in general, not today and thus quickly regretted his statement when I said sure let's go to the one on treasure island.
I don't know if it was the weather, or that it's new, but it was sort of underwhelming. I'd say it was a total bust except Randall was a to order meat on a stick. Afterwards I was curious to check out the wineries on the island, but mr designated driver said boo on that.
When we got home (after a jaunt to the grocery store) I got crazy drowsy and decided to nap. I love naps and thought maybe I'd sleep 40 minutes or so. Not quite. I woke up hours later. In fact it was so late it was nearly time to go to dinner.
Sam and chris were going to a show at slims and since them coming to the city is now an event I thought it would be fun to meet up for dinner. Also, slims is next door to bar agricole and that was on my list.
I had forgotten about Folsom street fair (which this is in the heart of), but it all worked out and we even found great parking. This meant Randall and i got there early and so we partook in some tasty beverages. They were well crafted and super delicious, and i don't care what anyone says. I love me a fancy cocktail and this trend can definitely stay.
Overall dinner was a pretty good experience. Casual yet heightened hearty dishes and an amazing atmosphere. I'd go back again.
Speaking of going back, who wants to hit up the treasure island wineries with me?

This evening Randall and I jumped into the countryman and headed across the bay. Lisa and chris invited us over for an evening of rock band and mixed cocktails. We also ate some tasty broiled plums with ice cream. Little mochi dog (pictured below) even snuck in and ate some while we weren't looking.
At the halftime we took a pause from rock band to hit up some rapstar. I'd never played before but managed some off the chains. Also I always forget how long and slightly ridiculous rapper's delight is.
Thanks for having us over. Fun times!

After work the new food gang (randall, dave, sara, and i -- I think we need a team name) headed out to the mission for dinner. We tossed a few ideas out earlier in the week and ended up deciding on Radish over on 19th. It's relatively new and it was apparently the place to be. Matt and his pal Melanie were at the table next to us, and Leslie and her crew were at the table next to them. That definitely gave the place a great vibe and the food matched well too. If you go, definitely do try the shrimp corndog. Super unexpected yum. As was the biscuit BLT (even if the biscuit didn't have the best structural integrity). I'd definitely go back again.
Sidenote: on our way to the restaurant, there was a group of folks who were giving out free hugs. I'm not totally sure why, but one girl had a tardis poster so I stopped to make a friend.

This evening my little reporters and I worked on some sweet stories. It's only week three (there are four writing weeks) so imagine my surprise when one of the reporters had hers mostly written and typed up even. High fives all around!

This afternoon Angelica convinced me to head out to a screening of footloose. Shannon was supposed to host a qa session with the talent, but that fell through due to plane troubles. I originally didn't feel like going (needless to say it didn't really look like my kind of movie), but then Angelica wooed me with the promise of wine. Today, for whatever reason, was a crappy day at work, and a glass of wine sounded like a great idea. And you know, it was, or at least the most tropical looking sangria ever was.
As for the movie? Well they gave us candy and we chuckled a lot. I actually didn't hate it (which surprised me), and there were some parts that were charming. There was a lot that was hokey and I kinda don't know why the remake was necessary, but did I have a good time? I'd be lying if I said I didn't.
Ps. Thoughts on new instagram? It won't save for me without posting anymore. Boo.
