A fair(field) jelly bean adventure

In case you didn't know, the main jelly belly factory is in Fairfield,
ca -- about an hour away from sf. Although we both grew up in the
area, neither dk nor myself had ever been. For some reason we brought
this up at work and Melissa said she also wanted to go. So we went.

This morning dk picked us up and shuttled us all to fairfield. We
learned how jelly bellys are made (but sadly did not see them being
made as there is lamely no production on the weekends). Then we
harrassed the sample guy and had our fill of very cherry, mango chili,
and all the other flavors. Afterwards we decided to make the most of
the trip and headed to a nearby olive oil tasting room. It was a
little odd, in that the tasting room was in an office complex, but the
habanero infused oil was delicious.

Wanting to get out of the office park vibe, we got in the car and
drove to the other side of the freeway where we went wine tasting.
Both places we went (ledgewood creek and blue Victorian) were super
friendly and didn't charge for a tasting. It was just laid back and
chill and fun. And gorgeous, the lush green hillsides are amazing this
time of year.

Now for the sad part. Weekend's over and we gotta go to work tomorrow.
Boo on that.
