every day's a new dumb adventure

say, what you havin' rick?

after work, molly, dk, kjell, and i went to check out a new bar near our office. it's called rickhouse (named after the warehouses where whiskey barrels are aged) and it's from the folks behind bourbon and branch. it was also packed, and had a 28 page menu that included a table of contents. i had a delicious drink that was mixed up by a bartender in an old-timey outfit. in fact all the staff were in old-timey outfits: ties, vests, button up shirts, pomaded hair, and moustaches. molly remarked that the bouncer might want to wear a different outfit. i had to agree. it's hard to take him as a person of power. me however, i'm sure i look like a pillar of authority.

so say, what'you havin'?

ps. julie - sorry if you showed up and we were already gone, we tried to order a second drink but it was taking far too long to get any of the old-timey bartender's attention so we left.

Nice picture. Too bad places like this don't like riff raff like me who prefer to drink beer.

Say what you will, Murphys will give us seats, there is a "patio" and no one is in f-ing newsboy caps. Now, if only we could make the Murph have some actually HH specials...

I agree. If we take the drinks to a place that's inside how will random alley wanderers and vagrants solicit us?
