Airport wine series: NYC red eye edition

How do I deal with a red eye to ny? Three words: glass of wine.

In related news, it's been 10 years since I've been to ny. This time
there will be no couch surfing, but I do imagine there will be some
late night hijinx. Stay tuned!

Ps. If you're going to blogher, stop by and say hi! I'll be there
pimping out onsugar and shopsense! And if that's not enough to get you
out there, then all the treats we have planned should definitely
entice you. Wr have so many tricks up our sleeve!

Airport wine series, red eye to winter edition

For some reason, i decided to fly out to minnesota for the time
between christmas and new years. my flight leaves in 40 minutes and
I'll board and fall asleep and wake up and it will be winter. I don't
know what I'm doing and I have no idea what I'm getting myself in to.
Yesterday my dad said there was 18 inches of snow. 18 inches!

At least I won't be alone, in addition to my dad already being there,
I conned bao into going too. His flight leaves from la and arrives
right before mine. That's right, I conned him into taking the red eye
to winter also. And by conned I mean gave him no choice; I paid. He
can consider it his Xmas gift to me. We're going out there to visit my
grandma. It's going to be an adventure. Or something.

As an aside, It was surprisingly hard to find a place at the airport
for a glass of wine. It was only 11pm, but all the cafes/restaurants
past security were closed, save for one lone sushi place. They stopped
serving food, but you could get your drink on still. I figure one
glass of wine will be a nice way to ensure a little sleep on the flight.

Ps. Wish me luck with this winter thing. Bao too. I don't even think
he owns a coat.

hello from thirty thousand feet (aka the one where we let molly down)

right now we are literally traveling through time and space. anneh and i are thirty thousand some feet up, on a plane on the way back to san francisco. the view out my window is pitch black dotted with the lights of people snuggled in their homes watching tv. i hope to be one of them soon. chicago was grand fun central, but it's time for home.

oh and this is us with our own ghetto airplane pretend wine series. we wanted to grab a glass before we got on the plane, but we didn't have enough time thanks to the teenagers that assist the folks in wheelchairs (anneh was sporting one at the airport). and yes i'm positive they're all teenagers. if not, then chicago has a high concentration of folks who are in their twenties that look like they're 14, oh and they all work at the airport.

at anyrate we didn't have time, and we slept through beverage service, but we wanted to play along, so here we are. cheers free wifi plane internet. we are drunk off your mighty powers (also, quite possibly still drunk from boozing all weekend, but that's another story).

Airport wine series

The airport wine series is really molly's thing (molly.onsugar.com), but lydia jacked it yesterday and I've decided to follow her lead and steal it too. I highly suggest you all do it too.

Right now randall and I are on our way back to portland to pick up our car. We're going to throw in bonus shenanigans, so it should be well worth it. Besides, we get to hang out with that puppy again and that is a super bonus.
