I've lived in San Francisco for over five years, but morm has only been over a handful of times. She was here last weekend and today she was back for more. And, the best part is she also made us dinner. Nom nom! If we're lucky she'll be here again soon.

Being a great pal, burger tipped us off to the fact that Louis CK was in town. He was performing at the punchline and so a gang of us joined her for some uncomfortable side laughing. I like him and his comedy but am not an uber fan (I didn't even realize he was the genius behind pootie tang). However, chris was surprised I went because as a general rule I don't love comedy that involves any sort of bodily functions or involves stories of being awful to another person. In short, Chris thinks I'm a prude. For the record I'm not. I'm just snobby. There's a difference.
After the show Samshrew, Chris, Randall and I popped into barbacco for some snacks and drinks. It was downright tasty and samshrew even got the tab. Thanks kids!
Speaking of food, today I got a quick peek at The Melt. I'm sworn to secrecy, but let me just say, any place that delivers warm gooey cheesy goodness is okay in my book.
Ps. The office is creepy late at night.
Pps. I wore a new dress today and dropped melty chocolate all over it. Then cleaned it with a tide pen and kind of made it worse. Yay me.

It was mighty tasty and I got a lucky double yolk egg! They forgot my pork though, but I'll try the ramen underground again.
Ps. And then later I went to the gym. What the heck? What has angelica started?

This evening sherry brought her super sweet (as in how is that shiny car not new) camry to the sugar hq to pick up Julie and I. You see, we had a delicious triple food date planned with shabu house. When we got there, we weren't sure what to order, but eventually went all in. That's right for two hours we had all you can eat shabu hot pot beef and lamb jam party. As sherry said, talk and stir your meat, no breaks. They were strict about the two hours too, with a last call even. It was okay though, we ate so much we could barely roll ourselves back to where've shiny car.
Thanks for the fun evening ladies!

But today we fight!
Okay, there wasn't actually any fighting today. That's just the title of a lithograph I did a few years ago and finally got around to framing today (along with a few other pieces that needed frames for years). I managed to finally get that chore crossed off the list. So yay for productive days off.
I was also productive in the kitchen. I thawed some three year old cake (dont judge that fondant sealed flavor in like brand new) and I even made some delicious pork belly. I did the David Chang recipe and while it was good, I felt like it was missing something.
You know what else is missing? My old mattress. These guys came and took it away and delivered a new one in it's place. Now if you don't mind me, it's time to go sleep on a cloud.

Based on this photo, one might think the four of us are in some weird uniform or spa outfit. We're not, we all just happen to have black tanktop pajamas. And that's right, we're spending Saturday night pajama party at home. Why? Because it's been a long, fun, and delicious day.
We started off with breakfast treats at home, then headed out to woodinville for some wine tasting. The wineries out there are interesting, especially considering the fact that the grapes are grown way out in eastern Washington. Mainly they're just small industrial spots where the wines are aged in barrels and then tasted in rooms in the front. We hit up 4 wineries, a vodka distillery (single silo vodka = delicious), a white whiskey place, and red hook for beers and lunch. Needless to say a great time was had by all, but man it (combined with the sunshine) was a bit coma-inducing. In fact we came home and napped for a bit before heading out to dinner.
For dinner we met up with alex and suzanne at Quinn's. Our delightful hosts (seriously A+D are amazing and I can only hope to someday repay the hospitality) chose this spot based on my love for sour ales. I had one while we waited for the table but switched to a local apple-lemon soda with dinner. Also, I did indeed order pig face with dinner. It was shredded and breaded and formed into delicious pork nuggets. No one wanted to try the pig face but I made them and they all declared nom nom!
On our way home we passed by cupcake royale where Derrick bought a round of all the special seasonal strawberry cakes. We paired them with a pint of vanilla frozen custard, some rose and declared it a great day.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for some shuteye. Amy gave me some knockout tea and it's really kicking in. Besides if tomorrow is anything like today, I'm going to need some sleeps.
Ps. Kitty figgy here is adorable and feisty and great, but she pwned us by marking her spot on our bed. Thiggy. Thanks figgy.
