The Daily Sabs

When the bangs are in need of a trim, they require more maintenance. That’s right folks, this wall of bang does not keep itself kempt.

Luckily I have a secret weapon that allows me to do this. A little while back miss sara took a trip to korea and brought me a little pocketpig as a treat. Icymi, that used to be my weird moniker, and even weirder email address. it was totally sweet of her and i heart it and carry it in my gigantic bag. Also, this pig is quite special; not only is it an adorable pocket-sized pig, it is also a mirror and a comb. Now i can build a wall anytime I want.

after work i stopped by laura's for a bang trim. they had gotten really long, and now they're back to their usual bowl roundness. they're crazy blunt, and maybe too much like a little kid, but i heart thems, and they're exactly what i wanted (if you need a haircutter in san francisco, do go see laura at barnets, she's fantastic!).

when my bowl cut was done, i stopped by burger's place. she's been sick like the rest of us, and today was her first real day of health. we chatted for a bits, and then headed out to meet randall for a delicious dinner. he was a grumpy bear beforehand, but some foods and a suita puppylove did the trick.

ps. bonus points for anyone who can tell me where we ate dinner.

this evening kicked off a very busy week. first i met up with burger and randall for a chocolate and cachaca party hosted by the tablehopper. and then we popped in for a mediocre dinner at caffe sport (the place is cute, but the food was just so-so) and then we headed up to the rickshaw stop to say howdy ho to baby grand (who were adorably cute in person btw).

somewhere in all of this we ended up in the fortune cookie parking garage (each parking spot has a "fortune" stenciled on it). our message was "Opportunity is Fleeting" and i don't know how i feel about this one. is the world trying to tell me that i need to grab a hold right now because if i don't, i'll regret it all later? is there an opportunity that i am about to miss? should i be paying more attention to things? and just how does one get this introspective because of a parking spot?

i wasn't sure if my blackberry would work in Mexico -- I always get the international data service turned on, but it never seems to do anything -- so to entertain you while I'm gone, I figured I'd share some vintage photos.

This photo is one of my faves. not because of its lil' sabs factor, but because of that dress. if i could have that dress right now, I would totally wear it on a regular basis. The other reason i like it is that it shows I have pretty much been the same my entire life (well there was that awful dyed hair crappy weird period during college, but we won't talk about that). I more or less have that haircut now, and even though this dress is not in my arsenal, i'm sure something else polyester and twee is.

also, who slouches like that? don't school photographers tell kids to straighten up? sheesh!

a while ago my gal Bella hooked me up with a vial of Buxom Lips lip gloss. I thought it was sort of weird, and it made my lips tingle. in fact, the first time i used it i swear i was drooling everywhere. however that was months ago. now i am fully addicted like a crack fiend. i apply this shit about a thousand times a day, and freaking love the cake-smell and tingly feeling. i am pretty sure it's not good for me, but i'm going to just pretend that it's okay.

oh and can someone tell me what is up with my bangs today? they look like a creature has taken a bite out of them!

as a sidenote - we're getting ready for a trip out of town for a friend's wedding and i won't have access to a computer and who knows if the blackberry will work.

This smile is for two things. (1) I finally got a much overdue haircut, including new bangs and (2) we had Ike's for dinner.
