every day's a new dumb adventure

That's that (happy bday leslie!)

This evening my pal Leslie parked herself at 15 romolo for birthday
drinks. I was going to go straight afterwork but was gross from the
gym (that makes I three times this week folks). Luckily Leslie planned
on being there from six to midnight, so there was time. And in a
surprising twist, even Randall agreed that going later was better than
earlier. So we joined her and the rest of the folks on the 10pm shift
(hey Marc!) for super great crafted drinks. Seriously the folks at 15
romolo made some cracking delicious drinks. That or they stepped up
their game just for Leslie.

While there I also ordered a that's that. It's romolo's version of an
it's it (homemade oatmeal cookie sandwich with Humphrey slocombe
walnut ice cream all dipped in chocolate). It was all that, but sadly
there were raisins in there and that ruined it for me. Leslie however,
she likes raisins in her cookies so I assume they knew that and left
them in just for her.

Happy bday Leslie!

a goat, a beer, and a plate of slop

last night randall and i made a slow cooker dish that was tasty, but horrible looking. the rice turned to cream of wheat and there was a ton of it. This means we're eating what is essentially slop (aka chicken and sausage oatmeal) all week long. in order to spice it up, i stopped by the grocery store to pick up some good accoutrements. while i was there this imported french goat mascot beer caught my eye. i'm not sure it pairs well with slop, but i love a good excuse for beer o'clock.

this is going to be one "margarita" too many

something about today was too long. it simultaneously dragged on and went by too fast, and I was crazy exhausted by the end of it. so when buger called to see what was up for dinner, i knew that the little chihuahua would be a good call.

she has a friend from australia who is visiting -- he's a bit like tuttle and johnny rolled together, but with a thicker accent and a jauntier scarf -- and he was in the mood for a tasty burrito. the food there is delicious (burger had a burrito with plantains in it!), but the "margaritas" are more like citrusy white sangria.

randall and i arrived first and so we ordered a carafe and ate some chips. burger's friend was trying to get a glass to join us in the carafe, but they gave him a big ol' glass full of margarita instead. burger wasn't drinking, hugh had his own glass, and randall was driving; this meant the carafe was mostly mine. i don't have problems with that.
