Farewell to wands

I know, I am too old to go to a midnight screening and I am especially too old to dress up in funny robes with homemade wands and go to a midnight screening, and yet here I am. Luckily I am not alone, nerd Julie joined me in the shenanigans. She is the best and even brought us snuggie robes while I crafted us some wands. This picture of her is the best. I can't stop laughing!

Ps. Title courtesy of Julie!

Pps. Started off the night with a madewell launch party. No magic there, but fun anyway.

Stacking on Sunday

Today was the complete opposite of yesterday. In fact I didn't step foot outside, despite the peautiful weather. What I did do was read, make food for lunches, do laundry, and play hours of stacking. I love games like this one. Just sort of innocent E for everyone fun, but clever, and not kiddy. Well not that kiddy, there are still some instances of immature (read flatulence) humor, but mostly it's just whimsy and makes your brain think. I Highly recommended, although be warned, you might just turn into a stacking doll yourself.

Total eclipse of our heartthrobs

When you work at a place like sugar, there are certain ridiculous
things it helps to be into. I mean where else could I work where there
would be a get out of the office early to go watch twilight party?
Yes, one of the ridiculous things I'm into is twilight. I'm not
ashamed to admit it. Okay maybe just a little bit. I mean the movies
are pretty bad. Luckily I have all these lovely ladies and a dapper
gent to share them with. Not to mention to snicker and make snide
comments at with.

A bunch of honey pigs

Today Randall and I hopped on a plane and headed down to LA. Chris's
film is screening at the LA Asian pacific film festival, and we
decided to come down to support. Besides we kept telling bao we were
coming to visit and a trip was long overdue.

After an afternoon of catching up, tito's tacos, and checking out
bao's place, we checked into our hotel, had a quick drink and then
went out to hunt for dinner. We didn't actually have to hunt hunter/
gatherer style, but we did cast a wide net. We originally thought we
go to sara's ham hung recommendation. But the English only menu was a
bit crazytown and Randall played the veto card. I was bummed at first,
but we went a block down to Honey Pig and my bummers went away. Honey
pig was Korean BBQ extreme complete with buzzers at the table to let
people know you need assistance. The food was pretty great, but sadly
the gimmicky pig shaped lighters they gave us at the end of the meal
was my favorite part. Honey pigs = Happy pigs!

Okay gotta go, it's time to go mingle at this really weird film
festival party.

R-e-s-p-e-c-t (imma let you finish)

Tonight was the annual sugar holiday party. I got on the first bus and
headed over to presidio lanes with a good chunk of the crew. I ate my
fair share of fried foods and drank many moons (blue moons that is). I
bowled a 41.

After bowling, it was time for the sugar awards. It's the first year
we've done it and so it was a fun treat. The awards are peer-based
awards, one for each letter and then a grand prize winner. There are
some great folks who work here, so it's hard to say who was deserving.
I know it sounds gushy, but there really are that many good folks. I
ended up winning the R for respect award. It was honestly a surprise.
Thanks folks, it's been an interesting year and I'm really happy to
have come out ahead. So nice surprise.

What wasn't a surprise was the grand prize winner. Angelica took home
the plaque and the big bucks. Yay A!

Ps. This photo was from my acceptance speech (which was lame and I'm
not sure I said thanks, so thanks again!) and this is the crew. It's
so big we now can't even fit in the frame. (there's a joke about
bowling and frames in there somewhere)

Pps. I'm dissapointed that no one thought to do the lame overplayed
kanye joke. It seems like it would've been appropriate. Given the
source and our company.rocks

We've got this facial grooming thing down pat

Yesterday I saw these sweet moustache bandages and knew I had to get
them for Angelica. So here we are, Kristy, Angelica, and I, displaying
how sweet they are. At first we put them on our fingers to hold up,
but then we put them right on our faces. I know it sounds terrible,
but I hope angelica gets a zit on her face so that she has to wear one
of these suckers on her face. Because well, look at how sweet we all
look.

I don't really need to say any more. Except maybe that I love it.
