today was one of those amazing san francisco days; there was lots to do, lots to see, and the weather was just downright perfect. although i got a late start (i slept in until 10:30 or so), there was still enough time to do all sorts. first up was the ferry building for the goat festival. it wasn't really a "festival" per se (there wasn't really a lot there to make it more than just a wee celebration), but we did get to snorgle some 7-day old goats, so it wasn't a total bust. it's funny, i used to think goats were creepy looking, but this little guy was so snorgly, he just moseyed on over and wanted to make pals. it probably had something to do with the fact that i just chowed down a 4505 meats chicken sausage and had some evidence on my hands, but i'm going to tell myself it's because he just wanted to snorgle.

afterwards randall and i muni'd on over to duboce park for the dogfest 2010. there were millions of dogs, and lots of silent and live auction items up for grabs. we met some adorable guys -- i was going to steal this chubby nonstop smiling pomeranian and randall befriended a rambunctious black lab mix -- but alas our landlord has a no dog policy. boo on that.

once we had our fill of puppies, we grabbed the N and headed over to amoeba for record store day. jonsi (from sigur ros) was doing an in-store, and since i missed the show i wanted to make sure i saw him. the show was pretty great, his voice is absolutely enchanting and his band was amazingly darling. i love it when musicians look like they actually love playing (as opposed to the ones who are clearly there because they have to be). while at amoeba we ran into our old pal jonathan. it's been a long time since we'd seen him and he's got stuff cooking on all sorts of burners. i hope we see him again soon, i want to play too!
now, after a few hours break, we're about to head over to oakland (twice in one week even!) for a happy birthday jessi uber-kitschy thai food celebration!
it's definitely been a pretty great day.
ps. i need to own alex's horse sweater. that thing is the best.
