some sundays you wake up, throw on sweats, and sit around all day. then there are the sundays where you wake up, throw on your regular clothes, walk down to delicious brunch, wander about, come home, throw on sweats and then sit around all day. today was one of those days. randall and i ate at ike's, and then we added on a few hours of video-gaming fun. because well, we are nerds, and sometimes nerd friday spills over thru the whole weekend.
despite a ridicuous journey yesterday (which included a 3 hour ride in the cab of a tow truck) it is fun to be here in pdx. we've spent the day hanging out and eating, and doing a lot of nothing - including a hasty game of scrabble. it's been great to get the band back together. you know, figuratively speaking since we never were a band.

ps. they service place is looking at the car tomorrow. we're keeping our fingers crossed that everything will be fixable in a day. if not i guess we're gonna live here in pdx for a while. what happens if it sucks us in and we never leave? i've heard it happens to people.
okay, this is ridiculous i know, but i have set a pretty strict "self-portrait" policy here at the daily sabs. the rules are (1) i have to be the one to push the button (remotes and timers are okay - i just have to push the button) and, (2)... actually that's it. i have to push the button. consider me a control freak.
anyways, so this morning katie was handing out her "pets" for some babysitting. i was lucky enough to get to hang out with a whale. i let katie have my kitty (a gift from Anna the super intern) as a trade. we were hanging out when anissa volunteered to take our photo. that's lucky for me, because the one i tried to take of us was waaay too blurry to use. when i asked katie what the whale was named, she said "whale -- he has a hat tho." talk about cutes.
ps. i'm exhausted. i couldn't sleep last night and got less than 4 hours of sleep. that's why i'm lounging around in my sweet old lady bird sweater, and phoning this post in.
today was suita's 13th birthday. who's suita? suita is burger's lil' puppy. to celebrate, burger rented some space at the K-9 playtime, and invited all the pups to come play. we didn't bring our dog though, i was worried the other pups would pee on her. what? you thought i didn't have a dog? um hello, this is jacquard, my sweet wooden pup. but don't let her sweetness fool you, she totally has a big bite.
oh and why jon hamm? we saw him tonight, he was in town performing at sf sketchfest. And apparently if you were at the slanted door this afternoon, you could've seen him and andy richter eat lunch. i didn't see them though, i was too busy at ike's.
