has anyone seen my credit card?

after work a bunch of us headed to murphy's for beer o'clock. i'm not sure that nerd friday is supposed to start with a few beers, too many french fries, and a balloon man, but i like it.

i also like the fact that we can always get a table here -- although i was really hoping we could get an outside one today, it was like summertime here in san francisco.

what i don't like is that our service is always spotty. tonight, the waitress took a bajillion years to retun with my credit card. everyone had to split, and i said i'd stay and deal with the check (they gave me cash, i'm nice but not free beer o'clock nice). a thousand years later i finally got up and went hunting for her. she was nowhere to be found, but a busboy said he'd hunt her down for me. another thousand years (i aged really well don't you think?) i finally got my credit card back. if i was more paranoid i might start checking my statement on an hourly basis, but i'm too trusting (and lazy) to do that.

proof that the weather in sf is so ridic

i have a tiny ill-managed garden in my backyard. this past summer i managed to grow some herbs, strawberries, tomatoes, and cucumbers. everything grew and i harvested throughout the summer, ending in early september. at this point -- because my garden is ill-managed -- i just left the plants there in various stages of "dead." the cucumber plant was particularly brown and sad looking.

so imagine my surprise when a month ago, some new little guys started growing. in fact these look even more delicious than the last few of the summer. how is it that i harvested cucumbers in early november? oh san francisco, your wacky weather never ceases to amaze me.
