i can haz a reunion?

recently, @benhuh tweeted that he was going to be in SF and hey did anyone want to meet up. now i haven't seen him since we were wee things (actual number of years omitted to protect us not really old, but okay that old folks), but i figured hey we're in the same industry, and hey we're are old pals (does anyone -- this would be the four of you involved -- remember that helluva sweet civil war photo project we made that was some how "lost"?), so it would be fun. and well, once the initial surprise wore off -- his face definitely said "wtf?!" -- it was.

while there i also met dave, claire, max and jessica (pictured from left to right), we chatted about internets and lols. just add lol to the end of anything, it really makes it ridiculous.

ps. after work melissa and i headed to serramonte so that i could initiate her into the amazing club of daiso. trip = success

pps. i know, that first paragraph is impossible to understand. and to think, i was once paid to write.

fun in the east bay sun (happy birthday jessi!)

today we slathered on the sunscreen, packed up the cooler and crossed the bridge to frolic at joaquin miller park for jessi's birthday. i had never been there before, and had no idea that there was such an amazing huge park in oakland. there were so many picnic tables and bbq pits, we had a huge clearing all to ourselves. it was the perfect party setting (complete with balloons and streamers) and it was also the perfect day for such an event (although i honestly could have used a little less sun).

everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, including all the kids and dogs. however it's events like these that make me feel older. when did i know more people with babies (or baby fever, there are a lot of baby fever folks) than without? although the guy at safeway did say i looked like a teenager and needed to card me when i was buying beer, so that should cancel the baby party feelings out, right?

ps. this lil' cutie is desmond, proud baby (that's what his sweet leather bracelet says) of jessi and chris. i think he looks like a tough guy, but is a big ol' sweetie, not to mention a drool beast.

pps. once we got home, i passed out and napped for over 2 hours. kele would've been proud.
