This afternoon my pal andy and I took advantage of the good weather and lunched outdoors. It was so peautiful out that it was hard to go back to the office. Especially when our bellies were full of spice-kit.
Later, after work, Randall and I headed down to the tonga room to wish Kimra a happy birthday. She's fond of the giant straws, fruity cocktails, and the overall cheesiness. The fact that it "rains" inside is just a bonus. Happy birthday Kimra, and thanks for the fun tonga room! You both will always have a special place in my heart. geoloc geoloc geoloc geoloc geoloc
tonight i hustled out of work to head on over to 826. lately, i can't seem to get there on time, but that's okay. neither can the kids. and neither can kimra. she arrived a few minutes after me even (that's right, i've convinced her to join the 826 crew too!).
this evening we helped our buddies flush out their story ideas. mine is writing about justin bieber. if you're asking who that is, you obviously (a) don't have kids who watch tv, (b) are old, (c) are snobby, or (d) don't work at a celebrity media company. the weirdest part is that for some reason i actually googled justin bieber a few weeks ago. this means that i actually knew an awful lot about him, which my reporter is finding awesome.
and in case you're dying to know, here's justin bieber. i'm only including this video because the video i really wanted (the three year old who cries over justin bieber) has the embedding disabled.
ps. this is the first time i've ever heard this song. i can't believe they autotune him and also, he looks 12.
Meet Kimra, she's buzzsugar for just a few more days and then will be off into the wilds of graduate school. To celebrate her trade of tv show recaps to python programming, we went for a few drinks. We were supposed to do karaoke, but apparently there are haters out there. So we took advantage of the good weather and sat outside with drinks instead. It was nice and enjoyable if not somewhat bittersweet. The times folks, they is a changing.
sidenote: This is the kind of relatively warm summer night that I miss. You know, the kind that you can sit outside until 9pm and not need a coat. Here, they are rare and must be treasured.
Today was a much needed beer o'clock. However this time instead of work causing all of my usual frustration and anger, it was family life. My personal homelife is great, it's those ridiculous parents that play with your mind. You'd think that after 30 some years parents would figure out how their kids will react to different scenarios. Somehow that doesn't seem to be the case. How I see it, after all that time they become more self absorbed and resent you for driving them crazy and eating all their foods.
Ps. Kjell (in the back corner) was mugged today. Luckily he saves lives everyday and therefore the police talk to him like they're in movies.
Pps. I totally saw a guy tagging the 22 bus in broad daylight and then just walk away. Was I supposed to do something?
