one last flight

i noticed that it was really windy this afternoon, so randall and i headed over to crissy field to fly kites. vacation (which i actually don't think last week fits into anymore) is officially over when the day ends, so we decided to pack in a little extra fun. also it was the first time in weeks that i've sort of just relaxed and did nothing - it was windy enough for the kites to fly themselves, and so we just sort of lazed around. i love how i traveled across the country for a little rest only to find it here in my own backyard.

afterwards we wandered over to the warming hut where randall decided it was time to eat san francisco.

Let's go fly a kite

Sometimes my life feels like a movie. Actually, it's not so much my
life as it is my surroundings. Today, after an entire morning of
chores, Randall and I picked up samshrew, chris and sushi dog and
headed out to Chrissy field to fly kites. That area just seems so
picturesque.

The weather was a bit cooler on that side of town, but the wind was
perfect for flying. I heart flying kites, it just seems so
therapeutic. well unless you're Randall and you tear your hands open
because your kite is too large, the wind to fierce, and the string too
sharp.

Ps. I have no idea why the sky is so dark in this photo.

wherever the wind doesn't blow

the weather was amazingly lovely today, and so i made randall take me out on a date. we ended up driving over the bridge for brunch, hanging out by the bay, and then running a bunch of little errands. afterwards we headed over to chrissy field to fly kites. sadly there was no wind and the kites never flew. just when we decided to call it a day, molly texted about beer o'clock. so we packed up our strings and headed over for drinks. a few beverages and several donut holes later, we were back at home and ready to pass out.

man i love long weekends.

ps. it was a sugar-iffic day. at brunch we ran into nicole, and on our way to drinks we ran into stacia. both of them were surprised to see me in their neighborhoods, but honestly i have to admit, i was sort of surprised to see me there too.
