Nerd Friday: back to the food truck edition

With the exception of the big Bella clean out (sorry if you missed it, but I think there's still plenty to choose from), work was a little uneventful. If I was smart I'd have taken the day off. But then I would've missed happy hour where the game dudes let off some much needed steam. I feel them on this, the train is going full speed ahead and our fingers are crossed that it doesn't crash.

After happy hour I jetted over to fort mason where I met up with Randall. Erin (who apparently needs a watch) joined us a little bit later. The weather held out and the food was tasty. My favorite was this pork belly sandwich from antano. I seriously couldn't stop talking about it, and I'm kind of wishing I got one to eat later too.

When we were winding down (aka picking the last truck) we ran into Andy r. He lives nearby and had come out for some tastyness. He had a rice thing that looked delicious, and we were trying to convince him to get the fritters for dessert. In hindsight, i wish we had gotten the fritters too. Oh well, I guess there's always next time.

Crowded rides and roving eats

Julie and I happened to leave work at the same time and so we set off for a joint muni adventure. There happened to be a train at the platform when we arrived, and by some stroke of muni luck, it was one we could ride. We squeezed on just in time, only to have a billion more people squeeze in after us. It was a packed train, but not the worst ever. And, for rides like these I'm always glad it's a friend I have to squish up with and not some sweaty stranger.

Later, once Randall came home from the RWC, we journeyed to off-the-grid. There was a wee one over in the haight and we had the most delicious stew item from 51st state. We also had some Korean tacos and sweet potato fries. Randall surprised me by eating the fries without coaxing. He acted like it was completely normal for him to do so. Folks, I think Randall may have been secretly replaced by an alien clone. I'll surely keep you posted.

Nerd Friday (supreme food edition)

This morning kellan confessed that she'd never had a banh mi
(Vietnamese sandwich) before. I told her that we could remedy that
problem today and planned on taking her to cafe dolci. While not the
best, it is definitely solid. Garrick heard our plan and was inspired
to go to out-the-door instead. At that point it was decided that we'd
all go there since out-the-door is on the up and up, while dolci is a
little sketch (to some, to me it is solid good but others find their
$3 sandwiches scary). O-T-D ending up being a delicious choice though,
so thanks for the suggestion GT.

Speaking of delicious, after work Randall and I finally checked out
off the grid down at fort mason. Omfg. Why hasn't anyone dragged me
down there before? It was like food truck heaven. I had a chairman bao
duck bao, lamb kabobs, a samurai snack, potstickers, duck tacos, fried
chicken, pineaple salted caramel shave ice, and a delightful guava
cupcake to finish it all off. Thank god I splitsvilled them with
Randall (except the desserts those were all mine) and thank god I've
been going to the gym.

Not pictured is Erin, who also joined us at the feastival. I was in
the nom-zone and forgot to take pictographs by the time she arrived.

Okay. So who's going with me next week?!
