The Daily Sabs

We got home late last night, and needless to say, we all slept in a bit later than usual. Scottel played the hipster and rode a fixie to Tartine to fetch us morning buns and bread pudding. When he got back randall and he ended up playing video games. At first I thought it would mean our afternoon plans were going to be toast, but they eventually stopped and we ended up heading out for afternoon fun.

We met up with Karen and wee Olive (no really, smallest Frenchy ever and she's full grown) for Rhea's sandwiches and a dog picnic in Dolores park. I know, I know, I know, a total hipster afternoon, but hey the bot requested it.

Yay!

This afternoon I took a late lunch to meet up with Angie. She and I were part of the small group of girls in the UCSC compsci department. (that's right if you didn't know, I have a CS degree.) We were study pals and made it through the ropes together. We even had the same weird crush on the same weird non-crushworthy professor (what can I say, we apparently had a thing for bug-eyed crazy talkers).

Lunch was a fun trip down memory lane, and catchacatchup. It's been 10 years (shit I am old) since we'd seen each other and so we had a lot of chatting to do. It was sort of a shame I had to go back to work.

This afternoon Randall and I drove down to San Jose for some super
nerd time: star wars symphony in concert and then some shopping at
fry's. Afterwards we headed down to Los gatos to meet up with the
delightful karenlee. She's in town for a wedding and was staying with
her parents (hence the Los gatos). We haven't seen her since our
wedding and it was great to catch up. She's one of the reasons i'd
actually consider moving to NY. To hell with all the culture and 24
hour anything you want and bars open until 4, ny has karenlee and that
would make it worth it.

This is my good pal lamers. She probably will hurt you with an icy
stare if you call her that, so it's miss Amy to you. She and her
boyfriend "Jim" are visiting us from Seattle. Aims is a way old time
machine friend of randall's who I have stolen over the years.

Tonight we all met up for drinks (including anneh, Scottel, and the
always lovely meg). We then ventured out for eats and then finally
more drinks. We ended up at the elbo room where the Santa cruz
connection runs rampant, and where it turns out amy's friend nako was
goth dj'ing. That's right, goth dj'ing complete with taffy pulling
dancing and remote picking uping. I didn't stay long enough to see
(hey it's a school night and I have a busy week), but I did stay long
enough to take this pasty pictograph and say see look we could totally
fit in at a goth club. Except oh shit, I don't have on nearly enough
eyeliner.
