i choose you pikachu (no peeking heidi and grant)

a few years ago randall and his co-workers were at dave & busters for a night of company hijinx. while there they pooled up their tickets and won a gigantic pikachu. pika hung out in randall's cube for a while, but when he left the company he brought it with him. unfortunately a house in san francisco is not nearly as big as a house in the suburbs, so poor pika's been locked up in storage. well that part is behind him, and now it's time for him to shine. you see a few weeks ago heidi tipped me off to the fact that abigail has suddenly become a big pikachu fan. her birthday was the other day and we're off to see her tomorrow. guess what she's getting?

pikachu, i choose you!

ps. happy birthday b.sug.

Me and Pika Down by the Compost Can

This ghetto faux Pikachu pinata has been in the family for over seven years. I originally bought it for Randall for some reason we can no longer remember. We were going to fill it with candy and have a party, but somehow that didn't happen, and we decided to save it. Then we were going to use it for his 30th birthday party, only we forgot about it when the time finally came. Soon after that it was exiled to the garage where it sat and waited. Then we moved, rediscovered it and decided to use it on my 30th birthday. But between the food, god and guns (I had a faux-Republican party), there wasn't room for a pinata full of candy.

Then we thought maybe we'd break it open at our wedding post-party -- only that didn't happen. So we decided we'd save it for our first anniversary. Unfortunately in all this waiting some creatures found it and had their own pinata party. Little bits of pikachu were strewn all around the back storage part of the garage/basement. We thought we'd keep him anyway, I mean he was just a little beaten up. But you know what? After all this time, I don't think I could handle beating the crap out of him, candy or not. So tonight we said our goodbyes and pika moved into the compost.
