this evening, nick - who was subbing in for a busy anneh - and i headed over to bimbo's for the beach house show. like myself, nick prefers most shows in seats. and at bimbo's, if you get there early, not only do you get a seat, but you get a table. and with tables come table service. and for us, table service meant a bottle of cheap champagne and three glasses. three because randall joined us later. he didn't stand in line early, but he benefited from our earliness (i made him make up for it by buying me bob's donuts afterwards).
the show was pretty fantastic. all the kids were out (hi laura, will, michelle and their friend astra, hi natalie and her pal dan, hi lauren and her husband who we saw walking across the street), and i thought it sounded great (even if nick thought it sounded too echoey). her voice is so unique and lovely, and the sound is just so dreamy.
